Hey Teddy,
My name is Matthew, i'm 17 from Raleigh, NC. I just seen your part on
Inside Edition. I admire you. lol...anyone who can stand up for
themselves like that is awesome in my book. Thats partly whats wrong
with this country now, people voting on the side their parents are. Its
about time we start standing up for ourselves.
I grew up in a republican family, but guess what...I'M DEMOCRAT. lol...It
shouldn't be about what your family is, it needs to be about what u
believe in.
Matthew I'd like to support you in your endeavor (having seen the article in The Dallas Morning News). I haven't got a website yet, and may or may not get one. However, I'd like to support you by buying a set of pixels for future use, when I get a website. Is it possible to buy a set of pixels now, and at a later time, make a link to my future website. How would I go about doing that; I may get a simple single page to start, perhaps just to show my support. Then, later, expand it. I was a Republican, but have become disillusioned, and now consider myself independent. (I plan to vote against any incumbent in the Texas race. (I've signed up to support Kinky Friedman). Please forgive my rambling and wasting your time, if I have. But, I'm all for your spirit of initiative, and wanted to help. Thanks., Dr. D E
Hey Teddy,
Saw your spot on Inside Edition. Good for you taking this matter into
your own hands. Let me know how to do it and I will buy some pixels for
my business from you.
Look forward to hearing from you and good luck in your future endeavors.
Sincerely,
Dave Hey. I'm sure you get this all the time. I stumbled across your website by accident though. And as alot of people have told you, i totally admire what you're doing by standing up for yourself. And i wanted to tell you you're gorgeous! lol. For real. Jennipher. I will support your drive. In a few days, I will buy into your project. Tell your dad that the thing abt us...democrats is that our mission is to live and let live, we do NOT impose our views on others and neither should he. If you think abt it, it has always been the democrats that have fought for human rights in the history of our country and it is up to you to educate your sister on her rights as a woman (woman right to choose), etc. Right now, she may be afraid of letting her dad down, but in the process...she might be letting herself down. DutchTeddy Loretta Hi teddy- I'm Gary C (but you can call me Casey). I saw you on inside edition. My father is also a staunch republican, and I'm a liberal democrat. My father always said that "he didn't raise his son like this". We've get into political arguments all of the time, so I know where you're coming from. I'm a freshman in college, and I hope your dad comes around. Once I get my paycheck, I'll buy a pixel or two on your site. Just wanted to say hi, and that I think your site's awesome. Take Care, Casey, 19, Pennsylvania
Teddy,
I just saw your story on Inside Edition.
Loved it.
I'll be sending money. Enjoy college!

hey! my name is katie and i'm a high school senior 2. i just wanted to tell you good luck on what you're trying to do! i know exactly how you feel- i'm from louisiana, which being from texas you should already have an idea of whats coming, and my dad told me that if i went to another SEC school besides LSU he wouldn't pay for it, so now im trying to find some way to pay for uga. so seeing you find a way to do pay for college while proving your dad wrong is awesome and i hope you get enough money! well thats it! good luck again! -kt
Congratulations for standing up for what you believe is
right! I am as proud of you as I am my children who refused
to compromise their integrity during college--i.e. they
didn't go the party route. Of course, they knew if they
didn't get a 3.0 GPA, the money wouldn't be forthcoming. Not
giving them money for less than a 3.0 GPA is an incentive to
stay focused and to be successful. However, your father is
blackmailing you for his own purposes. Bravo!! you
recognized what he is doing and you refused to allow your
integrity to be sullied. Keep up the good work. You have
my support. I will figure out how to send my $1.00. Just
think if all Democrats send you one dollar you will have
plenty of money to stay in college through your doctorate.
BTW what is your major.
Dorothy M. N , PhD
Hi Teddy, I found out about your website and your cause through http://www.smirkingchimp.com -- check it out if you haven't already! I just wanted to let you know how much I support what you're doing. I'm a poor grad. student (in speech-language pathology, in Boston), so am unable to buy pixels at this time, but I pledge to do so once I get a job after graduation (so, sometime after Dec. '07). I just hope you have some left! :) I have been a Democrat and a proud Liberal my entire life, and this party could really use people like you. I hope you run for office someday, especially in a place like Texas, where the tide is starting to turn in our direction. Make no mistake about it--Bush did NOT win in 2000 and stole the election again in '04. One day Texas will go blue, and you will be part of the reason why. I doubt it will be in play for '08 though, so you should try to volunteer in a swing state before the election (and on election day!) that year. As a staunch supporter of Howard Dean, I couldn't bring myself to work directly for Kerry's campaign, but I hooked up with organizations such as MoveOn and America Coming Together (now part of America Votes). Now I'm involved with Democracy for America and a local progressive group. I only wish I had been mature enough at your age to get involved! You are an inspiration not just to other teenagers but to older people as well. Best of luck to you Teddy! Cheers, Betsey G Cambridge, Mass.
I wish you lots of luck on raising money for college. Just in case things don't go perfectly, and not that I would advocate selling out, but I would just mention that you can always register as a Republican and still vote for whoever you want to. At least so far, it's still a secret ballot and nobody else's business who you vote for - not even your Dad's. I'm very grateful to you and other young people who are smart enough to see through the most corrupt government we've had in my long lifetime. You go, guy! Sincerely, Grandma Lucy Teddy, I'm not sure if you remember me but I'm Andrew father (you wrestled with him at W.T. White). I picked up the paper to see if they had me in there (I'm running for Dallas School Board) and I saw the picture with you and your Dad in the Editorials. I just read the original story and want to tell you that I am very proud of you for taking a stand on something you feel very deeply about. Last May, I became very disillusioned with the Democratic Party and officially broke off from them. I consider myself an Independent now because the Republican Party doesn't appeal to me either. I watched your music video (can't wait for the final version) and you were on point about Bush. But in the big scheme of things, it's not about Bush, Republicans or Democrats -- it's about people like you and I getting out to the polls and encouraging those we know to do the same to keep these self-serving people (politicians) out of office who destroy our lives and this country. I will purchase pixels on your behalf between now and when you graduate so that you can go to college. Andrew is attending college locally and will transfer to a four-year in about 1 year. I emailed him the article to read -- I'm sure he'll get a kick out of it. Tell your Dad I said "hello" and to just chill -- he and your Mom have raised a great young man and they both should be proud. Take care and stay in touch. Sincerely, Linus S hello, Your Dad sounds like a bit of a jerk, no insult intended. My parents are uber-republicans, in spite of the fact that they are not fans of the god squad. However, they did pay for my BA from San Francisco State and my MA from NYU (both bastions of evil, liberal thought). Although I am now a 40-something mother of 2 teenagers, I still cannot discuss politics with my family when I go down for visits as it leads to bitter arguments and me flying home early. My kids are both liberal Democrats and rabidly opposed to the Bush regime. As a parent, I am proud of you standing up for your principles. As a Democrat, I support you with my $25 and by sending your website to all my Democratic friends (as I received it from my best friend in NYC). Very best of luck to you in all your aspirations; I've no doubt you'll go far! Joan H. Warrenton, VA Ok, you’re 17 but you are my new hero! Keep it up! Hillary I hope you get the money you need! I only wish everyone actually believed that Bush is the worst. I still can't believe anyone voted for him. I wish I had enough money to help you, but I don't. I just wanted to support you with my kind words--unfortunately, they are free. BUSH IS THE WORST! Stick to your guns--maybe someday your father will wake up. Sincerely, Harriet G Just wanted to let you know that you made the NYC market today. The NY Post had a small article about you.
I’d love to read the reasons you hate Bush. Maybe I could help you add a few more? J haha Best of luck!! Stay strong! - Jaymie in Northern NJ My name is Todd H and I am the Executive Director of the Tarrant County Young Democrats. www.tarrantyoungdemocrats.org. I am also the Vice President of the Mid-Cities Democrats www.midcitiesdemocrats.org . I want to send along to you my admiration this morning, I think what you are doing is very inspiring. We need more people like you standing up for principles. I want you to know that I'm discussing with both organizations the purchase of ad space on your website. Keep up the fight young man, I know how hard it is to get an education. I've been working full time during the day and attending school at night to get my education. I'm 26 years old and still humming along at it. Keep up the fight man, keep up the fight. If you ever want to chat or anything or wish to attend a TCYD meeting sometime, give me a call . Take care, Todd H
As a
person who believes in democracy and in freedom of speech, I
sympathize with you wholeheartedly. In my opinion, political
views and affiltration should not have any influence in
whether or not a person receives financial assistance from
his or her parents.
If your
dad is refusing to give you financial assistance on the
basis of your political views, then he is betraying the
first a foremost principle on which America was founded - as
a democracy. In a democracy, people ought to be free to have
any political views they wish, whether it be liberalism,
conservatism, anarchism, Marxism, or Nazism, as long as they
don't incite violence.
Despite
being a pro-life, pro-gun conservative, I disapprove of
Bush. He is a man of no principle, and he had illegitimate
and unconstitutional reasons for invading Iraq. I am in the
UK by the way, where we have abortion on demand, too many
welfare programs, and your aren't even allowed to carry a
knife for self-defence, let alone a gun.
I hope to
donate £10-£20 to your cause.

Hey,
I wish I had even a dollar in my bank account because I'd
definitely buy a pixel, but anyhow, that's what's up dude.
It's too bad more kids our age aren't doing more shit like
this, but people like you are helping to change that.
Lucus I read about your story in the Dallas Morning News. I had a similar issue when I was facing college. My mother would have paid for it had I gone to where she wanted me to go -- Texas Tech. I didn't want to do things on her terms. I wanted to go to the University of North Texas to do things on my terms (right reason) and live with my then girlfriend/now ex-wife (wrong reason). Looking back, I'm proud I made my own way through school. I appreciate my experiences and education more than if I hadn't worked for them. Your idea of selling web space is a great start. Good luck. WillYour dad doesn't get it. Typical republican bully
attitude. " Either you see the world my way or I'll hurt you "
Tom
Teddy, I read your story in the Dallas Morning News and all
I can say is "Good for you." Your father should be ashamed
of himself for putting pressure on you to think a certain
way. Tell him about Air America Radio 910 am. If he
listens to that (the truth about what is going on in our
country) rather than Rush, he will see soon the light and be
lining up with you on the left side of the aisle.
He needs to know that Rush is the brainwasher. Let's see if
he will give it a chance. A good portion of Americans who
voted for Bush are finally seeing the light.
I may send you some money later in the year for college;.
Where are you planning to go and what are you going to
study?

Hat's off to you for doing
what you're doing. It takes brains and guts and that's
what America's supposed to be about.
Good for you! We need more
like you out there.

Teddy:
Way to go! Stand up for your rights and your
beliefs! I read your story in today's online edition
of The Dallas Morning News.
I have sent emails to several of my friends to let
them know of your situation and I hope that you are
successful in your venture.
I grew up a Republican in the Park Cities. I
graduated from HPHS in 1975. While most of my peers
went off to school I stayed in Dallas and attended
Richland Community College for two years and then
transferred to Sam Houston State University in
Huntsville, TX. I received a bachelor's degree in
Radio-TV-Film in 1980 and soon went to work as a
news and sports reporter. I worked in several
markets throughout Texas. Along the way, I realized
that the Republican party was not in line with my
thinking and I switched over to the Democratic
party.
Where are you considering attending college?
Keep up the good work. If there's anything I can do
to help you, please email me and let me know.

It seems rather
infantile that your father can't let you support
and vote for who you want. Of course that is the
republican party in a nutshell. I am 55 yrs
young. I have mostly voted democrat. Did vote
for Reagan in his first term. Then realized what
a grave mistake that was. Anyway I am sure your
dad loves you. Just wish he loved you enough to
let you grow your own way and get a college
education. You might ask him what else he is
going to pick for you in life, a wife, your
friends, what books to read??? Tell him you
would like his permission to be able to think!
My father was a lifelong repub, and we differed
the same as you and your dad on politics. But he
was very supportive of me and helped me alot in
college.
By the way I believe
there are more than a million reasons not to
like bush.
Thought you would
also enjoy this link:
Again best of luck
to you. Maybe your dad will grow out of this
someday. You don't have to agree with him to
love him. It seems you have to agree with him
for him to love you though.
Good Luck. Keep your
principles.
Stan
Am helping put my own niece through college
now, so can't help at the moment. But I'll
spread the word about your website and wish
you good luck.
Love your spirit and moxie! Stick to what
you believe and the rest will follow.
Best wishes,
Larisa W

We're going to need to all pull together to
clean up the mess they're making of our poor
democracy. It's great to know that you will
be part of making this a better world
